PENBRYN

DESCRIPTION

Penbryn is a long stretch of beach with a few good waves. It picks up more than nearby Tresaith and Aberporth but is often affected by cross shore winds. At low tide there are peaks up and down the beach. The best is a left at the south end. However, the banks here change regularly and are often fast and close out.

CONDITIONS

South through to easterley winds are offshore. This spot only works at mid to low tide. It is a closey, shore dump at higher tides.

ACCESS

Head north from Cardigan on the A487 for about 7 miles and fllow signs to Tresaith. Then head up the coast along the back roads until you come to it. There is no parking at the beach. The closest car park is about half a mile upfrom the beach next to the cafe.. There is an overflow car park at the top of the hill.
