FORECASTS

The following are links to other sites that I use for forecasting the surf. The swell chart link is an accurate colour coded model

that gives the predicted swell size, movement and direction for the North Atlantic. This is the same model that the navy and the ASP surf tour use for predictions. The Buoy Report link gives the wave buoy readings for around the UK. These are excellent as they give the actual size, wind direction and time period.

Swell Charts (Click YES when prompted)

This site is extremely accurate but getting used to reading it is a little tricky. Generally, if the swell arrows are coming from the south-west and the colour code is green (5-9ft), south-westerley facing beaches in the UK will be around 3-4ft. However, that swell size will be greatly reduced to about 2ft for northly facing bays. This is assuming that the swell period is small as this can also effect the size.
