ABOUT US

Innate surf is a new company that plans to start out as an online spot finder and forecast website.

The aim of this website is to first provide an up-to-date list of spots in the UK including a description of the break and access routes. The second part of the site is to provide a forecasts page that brings together all the important factors that effect the surf.

SPOT FINDER

The spot finder is a written description of each surf location in the UK. At present there is a range of different surf spot websites online that offer a brief and vague description of spots around the world. They also give a one word rating on each location. We differ to these sites in the way that we provide a different written description of each site. Also, our rating for a spot does not operate on a one word scale. Instead, we provide a written quality rating that comes from somebody who has ridden at the spot. This may be either myself or another surfer from around the UK who has a good knowledge of the sport an the spot.

FORECASTS

I am confident that Innate Surf is the best way to check the surf conditions in the UK. It provides a page of all the links you need to check the different variables that effect the surf. For example, wind, swell charts (supplied by the navy), and the buoy reports (show the current status of variables and swell size around the UK). This easy to access one page saves the time of typing in long URLs and searching through the search engines for surf forecast websites. When trying to forecast the surf, it is important that you check the swell patterns as well as the wind forecast and current wave buoy condtions. Please contact me if you feel there should be another element added to this page as I would like to make it as easy as possible to help you forecast the surf.

GETTING THERE

The majority of surfers you'll see around the world, and those that venture down to Llangrannog, drive around in large transporter style vans. This is so that they are able to travel from spot to spot in search of the best waves with a number of their mates, with all of their boards and wetsuit bags and also with built in beds to camp overnight. I have seen inside a few of my mates vans and some of them are propper pimped out. I'm looking into purchasing one for myself and I found loads of great deals on Yell.com under car dealers. I have also kept my eye open for the cheapest van insurance quotes for a transporter, where I found the cheapest quotes on www.quotezone.co.uk/van-insurance.htm. If I ever fancy a trip down to Corwall I just have to get into the van with my boards, wetsuit and food and I don't have to worry about places to stay or even worrying if the boards are strapped tight enough on the roof of the car, because it's all inside. My advise, GET A TRANSPORTER!!
